You have never done this. Good.
Most people who go horse riding with us in Lanzarote have never sat on a horse before. It is the normal way to arrive, not the awkward one, and the whole morning is built around it.
Meet your horse
Before heading out, we introduce you to your horse so you can get to know it and feel comfortable with it.
We start calmly
We ride inside the grounds and practise the basics before the ride begins.
Never on your own
A guide will be with you for the whole ride to help whenever you need it.
At your pace
We adapt the pace to the group so everyone can enjoy the experience calmly.
The practical part
What should I wear?
Long trousers and closed shoes you can walk in. Not flip-flops, they leave your foot unprotected.
Are helmets provided?
Certified riding helmets are included and everybody wears one.
Can children ride?
The minimum age to ride a horse is 7: from 7 to 14 they ride their own horse, always accompanied by an adult, and from 14 they can ride on their own without an adult. For the littlest ones there is a gentle ride inside the grounds.
What if I already ride?
Say so when you book. You get a horse to match and, once the guide has seen you have control of it, you can trot and canter. We split groups by level for exactly this.
Which horse will I get?
The guide decides on the day, from your height, your build and what you have ridden. If you have a preference, say it and we will do what we can.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes, for the horse's sake: 120 kg per rider. Tell us your weight when you book and we will confirm the right horse for you before you come, so nobody is turned away at the yard.
